A Step Free Route from Hampstead Underground to Parliament Hill triangle (via Parliament Hill)
This is a step-free route from Hampstead Underground Station, to the facilities in Parliament Hill Triangle, including the Parliament Hill Staffyard, café and toilets.
The journey is around 2500 metres. For people who can manage an average walking speed of 4.8 km per hour, this journey could take around 35 minutes. Bear in mind though, that these are estimates only, and that most of these journeys travel up and downhill, and so they may take longer.

1 Leave the station from the Hampstead Heath High street exit, and turn left along Hampstead High Street.

2 Take the first left turning, and go along Flask Walk, which is a pedestrian only street. (The sign on the post says 2 Willow Road and Burgh House, because this is the way to walk to these famous houses.)

3 The end of the old flagstones marks the end of the pedestrian only part of the street. You will need to cross over the road here to carry on along Flask Walk. Stay on the left hand side of Flask Walk.

4 Cross over the road and keep on the left hand side. Go past the garages and carry on along Flask Walk.

5 You are at the end of Flask Walk. Stay on the left hand side, cross over the road onto Well Walk and keep going straight ahead.

6 Cross over Christchurch Hill and keep going straight ahead along Well Walk.

7 Cross over Well Walk at the end of the road, then cross over East Heath Road at the zebra crossing. Turn left to go along East Heath Road. There are 2 footpaths heading into Hampstead Heath on the right, follow either path.

8 The other choice is to cross directly over East Heath Road into Lime Avenue.
Lime Avenue is a footpath leading into the heath, it is lined with lime trees. Follow the path downhill, and then uphill to the Sports Ground.

9 You come to an intersection, there is a drinking fountain to the left. Follow the path on the right, but be aware that this is a shared route with cyclists. You will pass the Sports Ground on your left.

10 At the fork in the path follow the path on the right.

11 At the next fork in the path keep going in the same direction by following the path on the right.

12 The path starts to go downhill steeply. At the next fork in the path you will need to take the left path, the path climbs steeply upwards. This path is not shared with cyclists.

13 Keep walking straight uphill. You come to the summit of Parliament Hill.

14 Keep going straight over the other side and all the way down.

15 Go straight ahead at the crossroads in the path.

16 You arrive at Parliament Hill triangle facilities. The first building at the bottom of the hill is the Parliament Hill Staffyard. The toilets are in the next building along on your left. The cafe is on your right.
